This week for our final installment, we are focused on tasty, healthy, and satisfying snacks that require little to no prep – so you can stay full in between meals while sticking to your healthy eating resolutions.
How to Add Snacks To Your Meal Prep Routine
We’ve covered healthy meal prep for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but it’s always important to remember a little something to tide you over in between! Healthy snacks that are low in processed ingredients and sugar are a great way to quickly satisfy hunger in between meals while avoiding the midday slump that can come from unhealthier options.
When prepping snacks for the week, you want to look for recipes or pre-made items that meet the following criteria:
- Made with wholesome, natural ingredients
- Low in sugar and other processed ingredients
- Low in carbohydrates
- Easily prepared and stored, or pre-packaged
The great thing about healthy snacks is you can include a variety throughout your week, so you (and your taste buds) never get bored! By prepping ahead of time, you will be less inclined to reach for traditional snacks like chips or candy bars, which are loaded with processed ingredients and empty calories. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Grab and Go Veggies & Dip
While veggies are always a super-healthy snack option, many popular store-bought dips tend to be on the unhealthier side. So, spend a little time on a Sunday or early in the week whipping up some yummy dips that you can mix and match with your favorite sliced veggies all week long! Some of our favorites:

No time to mix up a batch of homemade dip? No worries! Reach for healthy store-bought items such as hummus or salsa.
Apple Slices & PB
This classic snack isn’t just for kids! There’s something about the pairing of a crisp, sweet apple and smooth, slightly salty peanut butter that always hits the spot. With this tasty combo, you get all the healthy benefits of apples (rich in fiber and antioxidants) plus all the healthy benefits of peanut butter (high in protein and magnesium) all in one satisfying snack! When it comes to peanut butter, look for brands that have minimal ingredients and sugar and be sure to limit your daily serving to no more than 2 tablespoons. And, when you’re ready to mix things up you can swap out apple slices for celery sticks!
